Beyond Green: What the Next-Generation Sustainable Data Center Will Look Like [Seattle Leaders Lab Findings]

According to Gartner, data centers would be the fifth largest consumer of energy in the world if they were a country. By increasing efficiency and driving the adoption of renewables, the industry can make a huge difference and demonstrate how green business is good business.

Our Seattle Leaders Lab met in September to examine case studies of data centers utilizing power sources from clean, green sources such as wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal and the benefits achieved. They also explored various energy reduction strategies such as modernization planning for legacy equipment, low carbon footprint installations, space optimization, as well as how to justify the investment in green initiatives to key stakeholders. Together, this expert group of data center and IT infrastructure professionals came up with 5 Keys to Maximizing Data Center Sustainability. Download the executive summary to find out what they were. NOTE: the full whitepaper will be released at Data Center World 2019 in Phoenix, March 19-22. Learn more at datacenterworld.com.
